Budget Shopping: Create An Outfit For Less Than $60!

Budget shopping is one of my favorite pastimes and putting together a complete look (including nail polish!) for under $100 can be impossible! My girl Iman Drummond is bringing you this easy, casual look for under $60! Hope you enjoy this xo NM

Living in LA can be pricey – scratch that, it IS pricey. With rent, bills, car notes and an active social life, this does not leave much for a wardrobe (tear).

What girl does not dream of a Carrie Bradshaw closet? I know I do!!

So, how can we solve the problem of obtaining a runway closet on a ramen noodle budget?

Personally, I do not have the funds to spend on Melrose to drop by Alexander McQueenVersace or Vivienne Westwood, so I must keep it #BougieOnABudget.

How? Killer deals, steals, and bargains.

In my look I like to call “Sugar & Stripes”, I managed a casual cool look that is perfect for a movie night, happy hour, museum visiting or snagging coffee at Starbucks. I chose this look because it represents who I am and my personality which can be described as warm, cozy and comfortable. I like looks that are fun and look effortless; but with staple pieces, can transform into gold!

This look comes together from different brands, colors and patterns. I scored the sweater top on sale at Zara [when I traveled to Boston, hint hint…they have no tax on clothing] for $9.99, YES that’s right $9.99, my black denim pants from Forever21 for $7, wedge heels at Ross for $20, scarf from Forever21 for $7, watch from Target $15 and nail color by one of my favorite nail lacquer lines…O.P.I called ‘Malaga Wine’.

Grand total: $59!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look!!!

For me, being #BougieOnABudget is about finding pieces on sale (shop offseason for next season, i.e. shop winter during the summer and vice versa), finding similar items in less expensive stores, shopping online (you’d be surprised at the difference) and buying key pieces that can be paired with other clothing items you have. I am ecstatic when I can “recreate” looks for less or put together my own looks and rock with confidence.

In a nutshell you too can have a million dollar looking closet without breaking the bank!
