Apparently ingesting charcoal in pill form is a thing now, guys. Like actually.
I was casually browsing through Instagram when I came across my friend Shannon’s (who is amazing and loves the holistic lifestyle – patiently waiting for her blog) most recent post:
When I saw this, I was like hmmm…weird. But Shannon is the queen of holistic tips and tricks, so I had to look into this further. What I found is that people are SWEARING by it! Lauryn Evarts, the creator of one of my favorite blogs The Skinny Confidential, has an entire post dedicated to the benefits of activated charcoal, which you can find here. Read the comments because you can also find some cons (i.e: may make your birth control ineffective).
I’m honestly so intrigued by this that I’m going to Whole Foods and getting myself a bottle right after I’m done writing this post. I’ll come back on here and discuss the results next week for you – should you be interested and I hope you are!
Anyone else out there in the digital universe take activated charcoal? I need to hear all about your experiences, people! It’s supposed to take away any bloating, get your digestive system movin’ and shakin’, and take out all the gross toxins blah blah blah. Make sure you tell me everything – the good AND the bad. Mostly the bad though so I know to prepare myself.
