Crunchy Cabbage and Seed Salad

In the summer heat everyone will enjoy a refreshing salad. Here is a recipe for a salad that is friendly to all occasions, whether it be a dinner party, BBQ or brunch.

Crunchy, yet juicy, this salad is nutritional and different to what you expect to find in a ‘regular’ salad. And once again, totally Bougie-On-A-Budget approved!

Ingredients: (depending on salad size; mine will feed 8-10)

  • x 1 pack of dry noodles
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Cabbage
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • White Wine Vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Soy Sauce

Instructions:

Step 1:

  • Fry noodles, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds until brown

*fry each separately as they cook in a different amount of time

Step 2:

  • Slice cabbage and cover with dressing (ingredients and instructions below for this)
  • Mix it in so the dressing has spread

Step 3:

  • Add seeds and noodles before serving
  • Mix them in so they spread

FOR THE DRESSING:

  • 1/2 cup of white wine vinegar
  • 2/3 cup of olive oil
  • 5 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

Step 1:
Mix all of the above ingredients together to make the dressing
* one way to do this is in a bottle so you can give it a good shake

Step 2:

  • Pour over the cabbage before adding seeds and noodles
