I’m definitely not a vegan, and I have been cutting down on my animal protein consumption. Any red meat is a no-no for me, as I’m allergic, but it doesn’t mean I don’t CRAVE it sometimes. It’s been hard to find vegan burgers that make me feel like I’m eating red meat without the actual red meat. Beyond Meat finally created products that are great meat substitutes.

We got our delivery yesterday so of course I hit the kitchen to serve up some goodness while we watch The Bachelor. After craving a burger for what has felt like ages, I went to work on these vegan burgers. The whole process literally took me 15 minutes – it’s so easy! The lazy girl in the kitchen is no joke!
What you’ll need (all easy to order on Milk And Eggs) to serve 2:
- 1 package Beyond Meat Beyond Burger Patties
- Butter lettuce
- 1 Portobello Mushroom
- 1/4th of a red onion
- Minced Garlic
- Avocado oil or spray (I love the Primal Kitchen brand)
- Optional: Sriracha Aioli & jalapeños
Take your Beyond Meat burgers and place on your grill. I use my panini maker instead of an actual grill and it does the trick. The instructions say to cook the burgers for 3 minutes on each side – I cooked them for about 4 on each.
Once you flip your burger on the other side, add your mushrooms to your pan with the onions and continue to sautè. I added a few slices of jalapeno to the grill for an extra kick to our vegan burgers.
How to serve:
I used butter lettuce instead of a bun and lightly spread some sriracha aioli on it. Placed the hot burger on the butter lettuce and topped it with mushrooms and onions. Pair it with a little dijon mustard and you’re GOOD.
