Golden Globes Nominations 2018

Golden Globes Nominations 2018

It’s raining, the weather is cold in Los Angeles, & that could only mean one thing: it’s time to gear up for awards season! Up first: the Golden Globes.

The Golden Globes nominations just came out this morning, and there are definitely some things we need to get into.

Can we first address how much more diversity there is this year?! FINALLY. With films like Black Panther and Crazy Rich Asians, the red carpet is sure to be full of different colors. It’s about time.

I do want to say that Sam Elliott (A Star Is Born, Supporting Actor in a Drama) got the biggest snub out of anyone and any film on this list. My money was on him WINNING in this category and he didn’t even get a nomination.

Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born will definitely be battling it out in the Best Actor and Best Motion Picture – Drama category. Some are predicting that Bradley Cooper will win Best Director, while the Hollywood Foreign Press gives Rami Malek the Best Actor win. What do we think here? It’s definitely Bradley’s time to shine this year, and personally, I’d like to see him win BOTH Golden Globes. The work he did with A Star Is Born is unmatched. Hands down.

While Lady Gaga killed it, I don’t think this is the year for her to win. She’s still earning her stars and stripes.

In the television categories, This Is Us also got major snubs across the board. I’m shocked because this is a hit show, especially for network and has been nominated since its first season.

There is now so much TV, it’s hard to keep up. Killing Eve is sure to sweep up at least a few.

This will definitely be an interesting night in January and I cannot wait! The most wonderful time of the year is upon us!
