Gordon Ramsay At The London West Hollywood

Gordon Ramsay At The London West Hollywood

Gordon Ramsay may be one of the biggest chefs in the world, so when we had the opportunity to attend his restaurant at The London in West Hollywood we just couldn’t say no!

I went with Sali, who is probably the biggest Gordon Ramsay fan I know. Prior to going, I had heard many mixed reviews but I needed to check out this place for myself. And Sali was just dying to try his scallops!

What we ordered:

1) Asparagus Risotto:

Delicious, but heavy. I also have an aversion to salt and found the risotto to be extremely salty. Sali said it was normal to her though. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. We recommend you share this dish with 3 people and keep it at a few bites each. Anything else may be too much.

2) Pork Belly & Scallop:

I don’t eat pork, but Sali said it was both juicy and tender. The scallop though…it was like butter. It was truly divine. The dish was served over lentils that were also very good.

3) Cod & Mussels:

This meal was served over Jasmine rice and a coconut milk sauce with a good portion of fish. Was not salty at all! Didn’t care for the mussels. The cod was good, but once again, I found it to be a bit heavy with the coconut milk. Could really have used some Sriracha!

4) Sticky Toffee Pudding with Gelato:

The show stopper of the night! I think I inhaled this in 1.3 seconds and didn’t regret it one bit. Truly an English dish made to perfection. I would come back for this in a heartbeat!

All in all, we had a great evening at The London. I enjoyed the atmosphere more than I enjoyed the food. I found the food to be either too heavy or too salty for my taste. I’m not trying to spend $60+ to feel like I’m spooning salt in my mouth. However, I would go back just for the sticky toffee pudding or for their drinks. I have to say, I was a little disappointed — maybe because I felt like the restaurant had a lot of expectations to live up to. Sali loved it though, so it just goes to show that everyone’s tastes are different!
