There are few things I love doing over the weekend more than I love going to brunch. Anyone feel me on this? LA has been quite late to the brunch game compared to New York City, but I’m happy to report we are well on our way to being on par!
My friend and I wanted a change of scenery recently so we headed down to Manhattan Beach, which is about 30 minutes south of Santa Monica. We decided to walk around until we found the perfect little brunch spot called Love & Salt.
Love & Salt is the restaurant where everyone automatically feels right at home. The staff, the atmosphere, and the location all provide a sense of familiarity and comfort, and it’s no wonder: the food is Italian-inspired with a California twist. And we all know the Italians are all about family and good food!
Everything on the menu looked tempting but ultimately we decided on:
- Coffee (duh)
- Nutella Toast (unreal)
- Wood Oven Baked Eggs (an Italian version of the Israeli Shakshuka)
- Yogurt and Granola (can’t go wrong)
- Parmesan Fries (I could have had 3 of these)
- Warm Italian Donuts (perfect way to end the meal)
But SO unbelievably delicious.
The best part about our brunchdevous (yes, I just made that up) was that it was super affordable! We got all of this food for $25 each. With tax & tip. And we could have split it with another person. If you’re looking to cut down more, I would nix the yogurt – you can get a good yogurt almost anywhere.
I highly recommend you get out to Love & Salt in Manhattan Beach for a new dining experience. After you finish eating, you can step out and walk to the pier to spend the rest of the day by the beach. I mean, it doesn’t get anymore perfect than that!
