How are we halfway through June already?!
Yesterday I joined Josie and a group of her friends to do a 5K for kids with cancer. I had been training for this for two weeks until I threw the entire left side of my back out and irritated the nerves around my lower spine just a few days before the event — just my luck. After being on bed rest all week, I took two Motrin and decided I was going to suck it up and do it for the kids. I cannot think of a more rewarding experience than being able to give back.
We all got up early and headed to the [typography font=”Cantarell” size=”24″ size_format=”px” color=”#ff6666″]Rose Bowl stadium [/typography] in our work out gear and ready to WERK. After check-in we took pictures and got to mingle — cue in my excitement when I saw Joyce from [typography font=”Cantarell” size=”24″ size_format=”px” color=”#ff6666″]The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills[/typography] — and then made our way to the start line.
I was the only one walking so I said my goodbyes to the rest of the team and made my way to the back of the line. It was cute seeing all of the little kids walking with their parents and watching a community of people come together to raise money for a great cause.
I had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again next year! Thank you PADRES for such a wonderful morning!
