Creating a web series has been a dream of mine since I first started Give Me Mora 3 and a half years ago. Yesterday, we released the very first episode of our new web series, The Participation Trophy! The experience has been super unreal and couldn’t have come at a better time for me.
I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine over the weekend talking about the release and how long it took me to bring myself to get into the world of YouTube, to which he told me that in fact, Monday would be the perfect day to show off my new web series. Both of us being Jewish, he explained that perhaps this my very own exodus from my fears. He was totally right. I am a slave to my fears. I have been a slave to the fear of putting myself out there and maybe not being accepted or liked for it. It’s kind of twisted if you think about it, seeing how my job is to wake up and be myself. Yet, for so long, I hid behind my blog/social media and only presented what I wanted people to see. With video, it’s pure, it’s raw, it’s unfiltered, and it’s me.
To 100% be yourself not just in real life, but on camera for people you don’t even know, it’s something I’ve struggled with. I knew 2017 would be the year that I break free from the fear and do this show. So, in a way, this is personal exodus and what a meaningful time to share it all with you. Just like the Jews freed themselves from slavery, yesterday I was able to free myself from any other fears or doubts that this is what is meant for me.
Thank you for the words of encouragement and I hope that you enjoy the very first episode of The Participation Trophy! We have been working the creatives out for this for a few months now and I am so happy with it.
Be sure to subscribe to the Give Me Mora channel and watch!
All my love xo NM
