MORAvational Monday: Priorities

MORAvational Monday: Priorities

As my birthday approaches (lord have mercy), I’m taking a step back and re-evaluating.priorities A lot. And while I’m still in my early twenties, I can’t help but think…

For 20+ years I put everyone before me – their needs, their wants, everything. I was the friend that you could call and no matter what, I would drop everything and run to your rescue. That may sound nice and dandy, but it wasn’t. Because when the time came, not everyone dropped everything and ran to me. Some did, most didn’t. Sound familiar?

I learned that in order to live a more fulfilled life, I needed to make myself my #1 priority. Why was it okay for everyone else to put themselves first and not me?

The second I started saying ‘no’ to people was the second I started saying ‘yes’ to myself.

New motto: you give what you get.

Once you get that part down, the rest is easy.

Next week I’ll dive into priorities part 2: putting what’s important first and how to figure that out.
