SXSW: Make Google Do It

SXSW: Make Google Do It

It’s been a dream of mine to work with Google and I can’t believe I finally got the opportunity to during SXSW.

Google created a fun house – kind of like the house in the movie Smart House – and it was EVERYTHING.

Upon entrance into the house, there was a Google smart car that made you feel like a rap star if you said “Hey Google, BOUNCE!” I was living my best rapper life in that car.

Once you got into the fun house, you were taken to the kitchen where you would ask Google to make you a Patron margarita. Safe to say, I was drinking all of SXSW. Texans love to drink. That margarita was SO good.

We made our way through all of the rooms upstairs – they even had a hangover room! The blinds closed and there was a Spotify playlist specifically for those mornings you can’t get out of bed. My favorite room was the music room where I asked Google to play Cardi B so we could have a serious dance party.

After we hit all the rooms, we were escorted outside to stations of food. Okay, so scratch that, Texans know how to drink AND eat. There were vegan options, meat options, you name it, we ate it.

Then, for the main event, T-PAIN!! We got settled on the floor and listened to T-Pain perform acoustically. I saw a video of him a few months ago performing without autotune and ever since then, I was dying to see him live. It was a perfect end to a perfect night.

Between the Google smart car, margaritas, delicious food, fun house, and performance, I don’t know which was my favorite!! It was really a dream come true.

I’m so sad my SXSW was short, but you best believe I’ll be back next year!

All my love,

Nic
