How are your New Year’s resolutions coming along? Sticking to them or not so much?
Well, if you’re like me, you’ve been slackin’. And that’s totally okay!

Here are my top 5 tips and tricks to get back on track (and you best believe I am taking my own advice):
Make a to-do list. Everyday after I’m done with work, I write a to-do list for the next day so I don’t forget what needs to be done, and more importantly, so I don’t think about work as much when I’m out doing other things. I love this tip because it makes me feel accomplished when I get to cross things off. This will also help clear your head and let you sleep better at night!
Make fitness a priority. This one has been the one I’ve struggled with the most in 2017 so far. I’ve honestly just been too tired and too busy with my social calendar to want to go get in a great workout. I’m a true Cali girl and I LOVE being outside, so instead of being in a gym, I find it easier to head to Santa Monica and go for a walk. Pop in some headphones and enjoy fresh air for anywhere between 30-75 mins. Eat healthy. Eating healthy is not just for losing weight, it makes you feel better. And when you feel better you’re more productive. I’ve felt super sluggish and realized I haven’t been eating well at all on top of not working out so this combo can be lethal to your progress with your resolutions. Our weeks can get crazy and I’ve found that meal prepping as much as possible has really helped! Boil eggs the night before, make a bunch of grilled chicken/fish/tofu dishes and put them in containers to take to work with you. Not only will you be healthy, you’ll save a bunch of money by not buying ready made stuff!
Journal or meditate. Every morning wake up 10 or 15 minutes earlier or set aside that time at the end of your day before bed, and just free write. Write whatever comes into your head and don’t think twice about what’s coming through. Keep writing. If you hate writing, try meditating. Headspace is a great app and will guide you through meditation. When you’re mentally strong, you can take on your days much more easily.
Don’t dwell. So what if you haven’t reached your goals yet? Who cares if you aren’t where you thought you would be? We often stress so much about our failures that we turn our focus on that instead of the future goals at hand. Dwelling is the worst thing we can do and will prevent progress so this might be my last tip but it is the most important one! Take everything one day at a time. If one day goes wrong, know that you will wake up and tomorrow is a new day to get it right. I know it sounds cheesy, but I’ve learned to stop doing this and I feel SO much better.
