The Academy Awards this year just did not deliver.
Neil Patrick Harris is always a good host, so there’s no surprise there. I have nothing bad to say at all – he brought his A game. I’d like to see Kevin Hart host next year, maybe he will shake things up. #HartForHost
Let’s get right into the winners, losers, and the lack of snubs. Every single winner was predictable. It’s been the same wins with every show. If I had made bets on the winners, I would be a freaking millionaire tonight. Where were the snubs? Where was the excitement? Probably lost with Miles Teller’s nomination.
- Lady Gaga slaying The Sound of Music tribute and Julie Andrews coming out
- Common and John Legend’s Performance. I wish I was standing near Oprah so she could wipe my tears for me.
- Seeing Julianne Moore win the Oscar for Best Actress
…And that’s kind of about it, to be honest.

The fact that I would have rather went to bed to sleep off this insane jet lag instead of watch the Academy Awards is a bit of a problem. Oscar Sunday is usually my favorite day of the year! Not sure why every awards show was a snoozefest this year, but here’s to hoping that the Emmys step it up in September, because there needs to be some kind of redemption after this.
While the actual show may have been a bust, the fashion was ON point this year. Gah. I can’t even do a worst dressed list, because there was not much that I really hated! People stepped their game up.

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Miles Teller & Keleigh Sperry
J.Lo (did you really think I would not include her?)
And that’s a wrap! Until next time, awards season…
