The last leg of my European vacation was Barcelona. I imagined Barcelona to be this amazing, happening city with yummy food and great nightlife. We took a short flight from Mallorca to Barcelona (1 hour, $70). I was so stoked to see what everyone keep ranting and raving about.
Well, I landed, had a chill night and by my second night I was sick and dying. During our dinner at Da Greco (a must-eat), I started feeling a sore throat and heavy eyes. UH OH. I knew what was about to go down.
Unfortunately, all I ended up seeing in Barcelona was a few restaurants, a few sights, and the inside of the Chanel store (because duh, there was a sale).
From what I did see, however, I wasn’t so impressed. Maybe I was just really out of it and focused on trying to not go to the emergency room in a foreign country, or maybe it just really isn’t all that great. If you’re a city girl (like me), you’ll appreciate the city vibes in Barcelona. If you’re looking for more of a beach and relaxing vacation, I don’t know if I’d recommend going here unless you mix it up with Mallorca or another island.
We stayed at the H10 Madison, a cute boutique hotel in the Gothic quarter. #BougieOnABudget certified! They have an awesome rooftop with pool and views if you’re visiting when the weather is nice.
What I loved (from what I saw):
Milk for an American style brunch
Da Greco for authentic Italian food
Tapa Tapa for yummy, affordable tapas & sangría
Park Guell for sight-seeing
Passeig de Gracia for shopping (it’s a street)
